Bull Shoals Lake
  
Completed in 1951, the lake is part of the White Rive chain of lakes. The lake is on the Missouri - Arkansas state line and is approx. 45,000 acres with 740 miles of shoreline (approx. 16,400 acres on the Missouri side). Noted for Largemouth Bass, Small Mouth Bass, Kentucky, White Bass, Crappie and Trout (Trout at the west end only). 19 Parks around the lake offer camping, boat ramps and public beaches available. Lodging is available at numerous resorts.

Clearwater Lake
  
Completed in 1948, the lake is on the Black River and is approx. 1,600 acres with 127 miles of shoreline. Noted for Bass, Crappie and Catfish.

Lake of the Ozarks
  
Completed in 1931, the lake is the largest in Missouri with approx. 61,000 acres and 1,375 miles of shoreline. Noted for White Bass, Black Bass, Catfish, Spoonbill Catfish and Crappie. A family vacationland with Lodging at over 200 resorts, Camping, Sailing, Boating, Skiing, Swimming, and lots of area Shopping, Dining, Music Shows and Outdoor Fun.

Lake Pomme de Terre
  
Impounded in 1960, the lake is approx. 7,820 acres with 113 miles of shoreline. The lake is popular for Muskellunge (Muskie) also Bass and Crappie. Boating, Skiing, Marinas, Beaches, Boat Ramps and Camping available. Lodging is available in nearby towns. The Missouri Department of Conservation manages 4,019 acres here for wildlife.

Lake Taneycomo
   
Impounded in 1913, the lake was the first of Missouri's major man-made lakes. 2,080 acres of cold water discharge from Table Rock Lake. When Table Rock Dam is generating power the current in the lake is very strong, like a very cold, fast running river. It is best known for year round Rainbow and Brown Trout fishing.

Long Branch Lake
  
Impounded in 1980, this 2,430 acre lake is noted for Bass, Catfish, Crappie and Walleye fishing. Offering lodging close by, campgrounds, marina, swimming beach and more. The Missouri Department of Conservation manages approx. 4,500 acres of state public lands around the upper end offering hunting, hiking and sightseeing.

Mark Twain Lake
  
Missouri's newest reservoir, impounded in 1984. The lake is approx 18,600 acres with 285 miles of shoreline. Noted for Bass, Crappie, Catfish, Walleye and Bluegill. Marinas and boat ramps. Mark Twain state park has recreation areas plus 450 campsites. Lodging is available in near by cities.

Norfork Lake
  
Impounded in 1944, the lake is approx 22,000 acres with 550 miles of shoreline. Noted for Large Mouth Bass, Small Mouth Bass, White Bass, Catfish, Crappie and Walleye. Most of Norfork lake is in Arkansas (approx. 2,000 acres in Missouri). Campsites and lodging available.

Smithville Lake
  
Impounded in 1979, the lake is approx 7,910 acres with 175 miles of shoreline. More than 4,00 acres were left un-cleared to help to provide excellent fishing on the lake. Noted for Large Mouth Bass, Channel Catfish, Blue Catfish, Flathead Catfish, Bluegill, Tiger Muskie, Walleye and Crappie. Boat ramps, camping facilities and marinas. Lodging is available.

Stockton Lake
  
Completed in 1969, the lake is approx. 24,900 acres with 298 miles of shoreline. Noted for Black Bass, White Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Catfish and Walleye. Predictable winds make the lake a good choice for sailing. Motels, Resorts and camping.

Table Rock Lake
  
Completed in 1959, part of the White River chain of lakes and is approx. 43,100 acres with 745 miles of shoreline. Noted for Large Mouth Bass, Walleye, Kentucky, White Bass, Small Mouth Bass, Crappie, Catfish and Spoonbill Catfish. Boating, Skiing, Swimming, Scuba Diving and Fishing. Marinas, Motels and Resorts. Lodging and attractions.

Thomas Hill Lake
  
Impounded in 1966, the lake is approx. 4,500 acres and is surrounded by approx. 6,000 acres of upland conservation area. Noted for Large Mouth Bass, Crappie, Carp and Catfish.

Truman Reservoir
  
Impounded in 1979, the lake is approx. 55,600 acres with 958 miles of shoreline, making it the second largest in Missouri. Noted for Bass, Crappie and Catfish. The lake has approx. 8,800 acres of standing timber, boat operators need to be very cautious. Boat ramps, beaches, campgrounds and marinas. Lodging, dining, shopping and services nearby.

Lake Wappapello
  
Completed in 1941, the lake is approx. 8,400 acres. Noted for Crappie, Bass and Catfish. Public land surrounds the lake extending into the nearby Mark Twain National Forest. There are 3 national hiking trails. Campgrounds and marinas.

Beaver Lake
  
One of the White River chain of lakes, impounded in 1960. The lake is approx. 28,220 acres with 449 miles of shoreline. Blue Catfish, Bluegill, Channel Catfish, Crappie, Flathead Catfish, Hybrid Striper, Large Mouth Bass, Redear Sunfish, Small Mouth Bass, Spotted Bass, Striped Bass, Warmouth and White Bass. Boating, Scuba Diving, Camping, Parks, Resorts, Golfing and Hiking.
